S.F.C. Program

We, at Runge First Baptist Church, feel that the best way to serve students and help equip them to be disciple makers is to have a fresh outlook at life and have a plan on how the lessons will be taught.  It is our goal to give students a structured lesson plan that enables them to grow in Christ while challenging their immediate needs.  Our Goal is to help students to become the future ministers God has called them to be.  The Wednesday night SFC program has an opening worship service, food, small group time, and a closing ceremony.

What is S.F.C.?

S.F.C. stands for Soldiers for Christ.  We are in the business of training students for war.  Our main focus is to get the students fighting the right enemy.  While scripture tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the forces of evil (Eph. 6:12), we often forget that we shouldn’t be fighting each other.  We train our students to understand that there are three very real enemies that they will face, the world (not those in the world), the devil (a real entity), and the flesh (our sinful nature).  To make a stand for Christ is to battle against these three enemies and only with Christ’s help we can win the war!

Cadets (Pre-K-2nd Grade)

Each student will have a particular group they will belong to; the youngest will belong to a group called Cadet.  The Cadet curriculum takes kids deeper into God’s Word while giving unsaved boys and girls a regular opportunity to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.  This curriculum also immerses students into bible memorization which is a vital part of being a child of God.  All Cadet students are encouraged to memorize as much scripture as they can because we believe that this will help them later on in life.  Also, they have the opportunity to discuss what they learned during the small group time.

Scouts (3rd-5th Grade)

The next group for students is known as Scout.  Scouts consists primarily of third- through fifth-grade boys and girls. The truth of God’s Word shows us the importance of following Christ in our daily lives.  It is our goal to help bring each student to a deepening relationship with Jesus Christ by challenging them to reflect a life of purity despite what everyone else might be doing around them.  All Scout students are also encouraged to memorize as much scripture and are given the opportunity to discuss what they’ve learned and memorized during their small group time.
